Orediggers Stark and Woodworth earn CoSIDA / ESPN the Magazine First Team Academic All-District accolades

GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines’ Jessica Stark and Megan Woodworth were both named College Sports Information Directors of America / ESPN the Magazine First Team Academic All-District VII (College Division) as announced today by CoSIDA

Stark, a senior defender from Abilene, Texas (Cooper H.S.), is a First Team Academic All-District selection for a second straight season. Stark, a three-time First Team Academic All-RMAC selection, has a 3.92 cumulative grade point average as a Civil Engineering major. A Pre-Season All-RMAC selection, Stark has started every game this season for Mines and has four goals and one assist.

Woodworth, a sophomore midfielder from Centennial, Colo. (Smoky Hill H.S.), was selected as the 2010 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Academic Player of the Year. A unanimous First Team Academic All-RMAC selection, Woodworth is Chemical Engineering major with a 4.0 cumulative grade point average. A Pre-Season All-RMAC selection, Woodworth ranks third in the RMAC in assists (8), fourth in points (tied – 22), fifth in game-winning goals (tied – 3) and eighth in goals (tied – 7). 

The Orediggers (10-5-3, 9-4-1 RMAC), the #4-seed in the RMAC Tournament, will host the #5-seed Metro State in the quarterfinal round of the 2010 RMAC Women’s Soccer Tournament tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 3rd at 3:00 pm. The winner will advance to the semifinal round on Friday, Nov. 5th and play the #1-seed Fort Lewis at Dirks Field at 2:30 pm.
