CSM's Bostic and Braun earn CoSIDA / ESPN the Magazine First Team Academic All-District honors

GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines’ Chris Bostic and Trevor Braun have both earned College Sports Information Directors of America / ESPN the Magazine First Team Academic All-District VII (College Division) honors as announced today by CoSIDA.

Bostic, a senior defender from Erie, Colo. (Peak to Peak H.S.), is a Mechanical Engineering major with a 3.86 cumulative grade point average. Bostic was selected as the 2010 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Academic Player of the Year and was a unanimous First Team Academic All-RMAC pick this season.

Braun, a senior defender from Litchfield Park, Ariz. (Millennium H.S.), earned First Team Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive season. A Chemical Engineering major with a 3.77 cumulative grade point average, Braun was a unanimous First Team Academic All-RMAC selection in 2010.

Bostic and Braun help anchor a CSM defense that leads the RMAC in goals allowed (8), goals against average (0.46) and shutouts (11). Among Division II teams, CSM ranks fifth in goals against average and sixth in shutout percentage (0.63).

The third-ranked Orediggers (15-1-1, 12-1-1 RMAC), the 2010 RMAC Regular-Season Champions, will play either the #4-seed Metro State or the #5-seed Mesa State in the semifinals of the 2010 RMAC Men’s Soccer Tournament on Friday, Nov. 5th at 11:00 am the CSM Soccer Stadium. The winner will advance to the RMAC Championship on Sunday, Nov. 7th at 12:00 pm.
