Lady Miners finish eighth at GLVC Cross Country Championships in Wisconsin

KENOSHA, Wis. – Missouri S&T’s women’s cross country team finished in eighth place at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships held Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

Lisa Lake was the top runner for Missouri S&T in the six-kilometer race as she placed 29th overall, one spot ahead of teammate Colleen Conrad. Lake recorded a time of 23:38 while Conrad crossed the finish line in 23:40. Samantha Schussele was S&T’s third runner to finish in 43rd place in 24:02, just ahead of teammate Mindy Lake.

S&T’s fifth runner was freshman Codee Pedersen, who finished in 50th place in a time of 24:26.

Bellarmine captured its first GLVC title by beating defending champion Southern Indiana by two points in the team competition. The individual champion was Lewis’ Kathryn Hague, who ran a time of 21:29 to win the race by 29 seconds over USI’s Jackie Henderson.

The Lady Miners will compete at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional in Louisville, Ky., on Nov. 20.
