RICHARDSON, TEXAS — Junior Megan Bryant (Carlsbad, N.M./Carlsbad HS) from the Eastern New Mexico University women’s cross country team has been selected to the Lone Star Conference Cross Country All-Academic team for his outstanding performance in competition and in the classroom. Bryant was just one of five athletes chosen for the women’s All-Academic team.
To be eligible for the All-Academic team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.30 cumulative grade point average. The All-Academic teams are voted upon by the league's sports information directors.
Bryant, a graphics design major, completed the 5k run at Texas Tech with a time of 22:58.28, helping the Zias to place third overall in the team standings. In the season opener at Midwestern, she ran 4k in 17:46.37, enabling Eastern to post a second-place finish.
This weekend, Bryant and the Eastern New Mexico University cross country teams will travel to Abilene, Texas, for the Lone Star Conference Championships.
