Belmont Abbey Wrestling Edged by UNC Pembroke, 19-16

Belmont Abbey and UNC Pembroke were tied after nine matches, and Braves heavyweight James De La Riva edged Kyle Spar 5-2 in the final match to give UNC Pembroke a 19-16 dual meet win this evening at the Wheeler Center.

The Crusaders claimed wins in four matches, as Shane Summerlin won by fall in the 125 pound class. David Saley (149), Appolon Jean-Paul (157) and Jake Varilek (165) all won by decision.

UNC Pembroke won the final four matches to erase an early Abbey lead.
