UWF Soccer Teams Capture GSC Trophies
PENSACOLA, Fla. - The West Florida Argonauts posted a banner week on the soccer fields, as both the men’s and women’s squads captured GSC Championships at this week’s GSC Tournament. The men won the final 2-0 over Christian Brothers, while the women drew with North Alabama in the final, 2-2, before winning a nine-round penalty kick shootout.
Elsewhere, both UWF cross country teams posted podium results at the GSC Championship meet, while volleyball pushed their winning streak to nine matches with a pair of regular season wins.

Men’s Cross Country
Freshman
Freshman Seth Rosonina (Mims/Astronaut HS) was named GSC Top Freshman at the GSC men’s cross country meet Saturday in Hoover, Ala. Rosonina finished fifth overall with a time of 26:10.42 in the 8k event. Rosonina was the first freshman to cross the finish line, and thus earned the title of GSC Top Freshman. His fifth place finish also secured him the honor of First Team All-GSC. This was the first race of the season in which the freshman was the top Argonaut finisher.
Alexis Pugh
Women’s Soccer
Freshman
Alexis Pugh (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) scored the winning penalty kick for the UWF women’s soccer team in Sunday’s GSC title victory over North Alabama. With the shootout tied at 4-4, Pugh stepped up to the spot in the 9th round and blasted a shot past the UNA keeper to secure UWF’s third GSC title in a row.
Karyssa Tourelle-Fallon
Women’s Cross Country
Sophomore
Karyssa Tourelle-Fallon (Navarre/Navarre HS) was named First Team All-GSC this past weekend at the GSC women’s cross country meet in Hoover, Ala. The sophomore from Navarre was the top Argo finisher and finished eighth overall with a time of 19:40.40 in the 5k race. Tourelle-Fallon finished 21st overall last year, missing Second Team All-GSC accolades by one place. It was the first time Tourelle-Fallon has been the top Argo finisher this season.
