Wilson/CCAA Wilson Women's Basketball Player of the Week
WALNUT CREEK – Cal Poly Pomona guard Reyana Colson was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s (CCAA) women's basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 29-Dec. 5, it was announced on Monday.
Colson, a senior from Compton, Calif., led the Broncos to a pair of road wins over Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State L.A.. She averaged 23.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 56.5 percent (13 of 23) from the field.
During a 79-45 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills, Colson scored 12 points, dished out eight assists, collected three rebounds and three steals in 26 minutes. One night later against Cal State L.A., she contributed a double-double, scoring a career-high 34 points, totaling 10 rebounds and three steals in a 76-63 win.
The 34 points by Colson are the most by a Broncos player since Candice Allen poured in a school-record 35 on Feb 5, 2005.
Cal Poly Pomona returns to action on Dec. 17 when it meets Western Oregon during the first day of the CCAA/GNAC Challenge in Los Angeles. Tip-off is slated for 5 p.m.

Wilson/CCAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week
WALNUT CREEK – Cal State L.A. guard Franklin Session was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s (CCAA) men's basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 29-Dec. 5, it was announced on Monday.
Session, a senior from Los Angeles, Calif., was instrumental in helping the Golden Eagles accomplish two things they had not done since 1999 - defeat Cal State San Bernardino and post a victory over Cal Poly Pomona on their home court. In two games, session averaged 12.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 3.0 assists.
During a 59-57 victory over Cal State San Bernardino, Session scored eight points, grabbed 10 rebounds, totaled three steals and totaled two assists. He keyed a 23-6 second-half run that propelled Cal State L.A. to its first win over the Coyotes since 1999.
One night later against No.1 and defending national champion Cal Poly Pomona, Session contributed 16 points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists to help the Golden Eagles to a 50-45 victory over the Broncos. It marked Cal State L.A.'s first home win over Cal Poly Pomona since Jan. 9, 1999.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Dec. 12 when they host Dominican at 2 p.m.
