UMSL Women's Basketball Suffers 92-45 Loss to Lewis

ST. LOUIS, MO., December 4, 2010 - Visiting Lewis University shot 50 percent from the field, including 50 percent from three-point range, to record a 92-45 victory over the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team Saturday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.

The loss drops the Tritons to 3-4 overall and 0-2 in the league, while Lewis improves its ledger to 5-3 and 2-0 in the league.

UMSL converted on just four of its first 24 field goals and found themselves down 22-9 midway through the first half before a 45-15 halftime deficit.

The Tritons finished the game shooting just 23.1 percent from the field and were outrebounded 50-44, but owned a commanding 20-7 edge on the offensive end.

Junior Caitlyn Moody led UMSL with 13 points, six rebounds and four assists, while freshman Kaitlin Sweatman added nine points and eight rebounds.

UMSL will be back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Memphis, Tenn., for a non-conference tilt at Christian Brothers University.
