Pirates Race Past Southern Wesleyan, 90-75

VALDOSTA, Ga. - Junior Grant Domsic hit 7-of-11 three-pointers en route to a game-high 23 points to help the Armstrong Atlantic State University men's basketball team notch a 90-75 win over Southern Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon in the Valdosta State Classic.

With the win, the Pirates improved to 2-0 on the season. Southern Wesleyan, an NAIA school out of South Carolina, falls to 3-3 in games played this season.

Armstrong led by five at halftime, 42-37, then built that lead to 24 points, 75-51, with seven minutes left in the contest. Four players reached double figures for the Pirates, led by Domsic's game-high 23 points. Senior Brett Goodwell hit 8-of-9 shots from the floor en route to 16 points to go with seven rebounds, while junior Chris Edwards chipped in 14 points and junior DeVon Jones added 10 points and seven rebounds. Junior Austin Edens dished out eight assists on the ngiht.

For the Warriors, Brandon Jankowy hit 4-of-8 three-pointers en route to a team-high 16 points. David Brown added 15 points for Southern Wesleyan on the evening.

The Pirates will face host Valdosta State on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. to wrap up action in the Valdosta State Classic.
