WICHITA - Senior Amanda Knabe and sophomore Emily Arden have been named to the Daktronics All-South Central Region Teams, as announced Thursday. Knabe was Newman's lone representative on the All-South Central Region First Team, while Arden was a Daktronics All-South Central Region Second Team selection.
Amanda Knabe earned Daktronics All-South Central Region First Team honors at the midfield position after finishing second on the Newman squad with five goals scored, and tied for the lead with three assists. The Derby native was held without a goal for the first seven matches of her senior season, but recorded goals in three of the last five matches of her senior season, including a one-goal, one-assist performance at Texas-Permian Basin on Oct. 23.
Emily Arden, meanwhile, earned second-team Daktronics All-South Central Region honors after anchoring a Newman defense that allowed just 21 goals over an 18-match schedule, including shutout wins over Northwest Missouri State, Missouri Southern, Friends, St. Mary's, Texas A&M International, and Dallas Baptist.
The Jets finished the season with a 10-8 mark, and posted their first 10-win season since joining the NCAA Div. II ranks.
