GOLDEN, Colo. (Nov. 27, 2010) – Colorado School of Mines defeated Saint Martin’s (Wash.) University by the score of 80-62 in NCAA Division II men’s basketball action on Saturday night, November 27th, at Lockridge Arena.
CSM led by nine points midway through the first half (22-13 at 10:53), but the Saints rallied back and carried a three-point lead (37-34) into halftime. Mines, however, went on an 18-4 run in the first six-and-a-half minutes of the second half to take a double-digit lead at 52-41.
Brett Green, who went 8-of-14 from the floor, finished with a game-high 22 points. Drew Hoffman (six rebounds) tallied 16 points and Dale Minschwaner (13 points, game-most 13 rebounds) recorded his third straight double-double. Minschwaner added five assists and three steals while Sean Armstrong (10-of-12 FT, five rebounds) scored 14 points. The Orediggers, who led by as much as 22 points late in the contest, improved to 4-0 overall.
Jeremy Green led the Saints (5-2 overall) with 13 points.
The Orediggers will begin the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) portion of their schedule by hosting Colorado Christian University on Saturday, December 4th, at 8:00 p.m. at Lockridge Arena.
