Millersville Men’s Cross Country Places Seventh at PSAC Championship

California, Pa. – The Millersville men’s cross country team finished seventh out of 14 schools at Saturday's PSAC Championships. Sophomore James McBride (Wrightsville/Eastern York) was the team's top finisher, finishing just shy of All-PSAC honors in 22nd.

It was a wet course at California, causing muddy conditions for all runners. Edinboro’s Scott Anderson was able to defeat the field of 132 and capture the individual title. Shippensburg, who placed the other four runners in the top five, won the team championship for the first time in school history.

McBride was only four seconds away from collecting All-PSAC honors running the 8K course in 27:25. Senior Josh Foulds (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg)  finished 30th with a time of 27:42. Another Millersville senior Jim Boyer (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg) took 37th in 27:58. Zach Kelchner (Nazareth/Nazareth) placed 52nd with a time of 28:37 and was followed by Michael Parker (Reedsville/Indian Valley) 57th-place finish and time of 28:45.

The Marauders now prepare for the NCAA Atlantic Region Championship in two weeks. A berth to the national championships will be on the line for both individuals and the team. The Atlantic Regional is held in Cary, N.C., on October 20 at 11 a.m.
