RICHARDSON, Texas – Midwestern State will host the Lone Star Conference Women’s Soccer Championship after claiming the league’s regular season title. The championship is set for November 4-5-7 at the MSU Soccer Field in Wichita Falls, Texas.
MSU, 15-2 overall and 10-1 in the LSC, is the top seed for the six-team, single elimination conference championship. The Mustangs claimed their first regular season championship since 1998.
Abilene Christian and Angelo State both finished with identical 9-2 records, but the Wildcats earned the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye due to a regular season win over the Rambelles.
The championship begins on Thursday, Nov. 4, at 12 p.m. with No. 3 Angelo State playing No. 6 Texas A&M-Commerce. The 2:30 p.m. game matches No. 4 Incarnate Word against No. 5 Central Oklahoma.
The ASU/A&M-C winner advances to play ACU at 5 p.m. on Friday, while the UIW/UCO victor plays MSU at 7:30 p.m. The Friday winners get a day off before playing on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the LSC Championship and an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II tournament.
