Lynn Volleyball Places Three On All-South Region Team

BOCA RATON - Lynn University’s volleyball team placed three seniors on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-South Region teams, the organization announced today.  Libero Lacy Redwine and setter Devon Woolard were named to the All-Region Team while middle blocker Haley Pratt earned honorable mention honors.

In her second-straight season receiving All-Region accolades, Redwine led the Sunshine State Conference with 649 digs, good for tenth in the nation with a 5.85 per set average.  Her 649 digs broke her own LU single-season record and helped her break the program-record for career digs with 1,914.  Redwine recorded five games with at least 30 digs, including a career-high 35 in a three-set match at Palm Beach Atlantic which was also a season-high for all Division II in a three-setter.  The New Braunfels, Texas, native rounded out her career with First Team All-SSC and NCAA South Region All-Tournament Team honors.

A local product out of Delray Beach, Woolard became the first Fighting Knight to record four-straight 1,000 assists seasons with 1,087.  Woolard also was second on the squad with 283 digs and 23 service aces while her 31 total blocks were sixth on the team.  A Second Team All-SSC selection, Woolard became just the second 1,000/1,000 player in Lynn history with a program-record 4,564 assists and 1,174 digs.  Her digs total is fourth all-time at Lynn.

Pratt finished fourth on the squad with 218 kills but led the Fighting Knights with a .341 hitting percentage to finish fourth in the conference.  A Second Team All-SSC selection, Pratt also finished second on LU with 92 total blocks and 0.83 blocks per set, ranking seventh in the conference.   Pratt holds the program-record for career blocks with 314 total blocks and was recently named to the NCAA South Region All-Tournament Team.

The Fighting Knights finished the season with a 21-10 overall record and a program-best 11-5 in the SSC.  It was the fourth-straight season that Lynn recorded at least 20 wins and its fourth-consecutive NCAA Tournament Appearance.
