SEASIDE, Calif. – Two Cal State Monterey Bay women’s volleyball players have been named to the All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) squad, as outside hitter Rheann Fall was named to the First Team and middle hitter Melanie Lashbrook garnered Second Team accolades.
"I am pleased with both Rheann Fall and Melanie Lashbrook making All Conference,” said head coach Jody Garry. “It's the best of the best and it's an honor to be recognized by the other coaches.
“With both of these players and the bulk of our team returning our best is yet to come."
An Elk Grove native, Fall led the CCAA in kills and points throughout the entire season. She finished with a team-high 422 kills, averaging 4.44 per set. She also dominated in points, averaging 5.08 a set. Her conference average of .41 service aces per set rank fourth in the league. She broke her own most kills in a match program record, racking up 33 against Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 15. Fall became the first CSUMB student-athlete to receive weekly national recognition, being named Sports Import/ AVCA National Player of the Week. Last year, Fall earned All-CCAA second team honors.
Lashbrook, a Truckee native, earns her first conference honor after compiling a .301 attack average and 75 blocks. Lashbrook’s gave a stellar performance in the five-set victory over rival San Francisco State on Nov. 2, accumulating 19 kills on 32 attempts for a .438 attack percentage while serving up four aces.
Both juniors were named CCAA Player of the Week this season after leading the Otters to their best year in program history, recording 15 regular season victories and 12 conference wins.
