West Texas A&M men's basketball notes

Attached are West Texas A&M men’s basketball notes for this week’s games:

Wed., Dec. 15 vs. UT-Permian Basin – 7 p.m., First United Bank Center
Sat., Dec. 18 vs. #13-Central Oklahoma – 6 p.m. , First United Bank Center
Mon., Dec. 20 vs. Northeastern State – 8 p.m., First United Bank Center


BUFFALOES HOST THREE-GAME HOMESTAND  – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes will play three home games over the next week before taking a holiday break. First up is non-conference opponent UT-Permian Basin, Thursday, Dec. 15, in 7 p.m. CST start. The Buffs will then host LSC North members 13th-ranked Central Oklahoma on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 8 p.m. CST and Northeast- ern State on Monday, December 20, also at 8 p.m. CST. All games will be broadcast on KGNC-AM 710, with Phil Woodall mikeside, beginning 30 minutes prior to tipoff.

THE RECORDS – West Texas A&M is 8-0, having defeated Texas A&M-Commerce, 76-75, Satur- day evening. WT is off to its best start since the 1997-98, when the Buffs opened the year at 15-0. UT-Permian Basin is 5-5, while Central Oklahoma is 9-1 and Northeastern State stands at 3-5.

SERIES HISTORY – The Buffs hold a 2-0 series advantage over UT-Permian Basin, having taken a 74-51 win over the Falcons last Nov. 27, 2009. WT trails in the UCO series, 21-24, with the Bronchos winning, 95-64, last Jan. 9, 2010 and the Buffs returning the favor, 80-79 during the LSC tournament on March 4, 2010. The WT-NSU series is tied, 8-8, as the RiverHawks defeated WT, 69-62, last Jan. 7, 2010 in Tahlequah, Okla.
