2010-11 UWF ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME CLASS TO BE ANNOUNCED DEC. 15

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will announce its hall of fame class of 2010-11 at the UWF men’s basketball team’s game against Columbus State at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 15.  The hall of fame weekend is scheduled for Feb. 18-19, with events taking place at Scenic Hills Country Club and the UWF campus.

The hall of fame festivities will begin on Friday, Feb. 18 with a fundraiser golf tournament at Scenic Hills.  The golf tournament will feature a four person scramble format with a shotgun start at 9 a.m., and entry packages are available for individuals ($90) or full teams of four ($400 with tee sign).  Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place teams, as well as raffle prizes and closest to the pin and longest drive contests.  The deadline to enter is Feb. 14, and information is available online at GoArgos.com.

On Friday night, the induction ceremonies will begin with a social hour at Scenic Hills at 6 p.m., followed by the dinner and program at 7 p.m.  Tickets for the hall of fame dinner will be $25 each, but space is limited and attendees are asked to RSVP with payment prior to Feb. 11.  RSVP forms for the induction dinner will be available online at GoArgos.com starting in January.

On Saturday, Feb. 19, there will be a reception in the Argonaut Athletic Club between the UWF women’s and men’s basketball games against Lambuth, and the inductees will be introduced at halftime of the men’s game.  The women’s game is scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m., with the men’s game to follow at 4 p.m.  Also in action on Saturday, Feb. 19 will be the UWF baseball team, as the Argonauts face Delta State in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
