Friday’s semifinal games will have the ASU/A&M-C winner taking on No. 2-seed Abilene Christian (14-3) at 5 p.m. followed by the UCO/UIW winner playing regular season champion, No. 1 seed and tournament host Midwestern State (15-2) at 7:30 p.m.

The two semifinal winners meet at 1 p.m. Sunday for the league championship and an automatic berth into the NCAA Division II national tournament.

UCO, which has won six regular season conference titles, took the LSC Tournament crown for the fifth time last year with a shootout victory over West Texas A&M.  The Bronchos also won the league meet in 2000, ’02, ’05 and ’06.

“We ended the season on a good note and we’re looking forward to the tournament,” said UCO coach Mike Cook, who is 198-67-15 in his 13th year at the helm.  “We can play with any team there and have just as good a chance to win as anybody.  It will be a big challenge for us and I think we’ll go down there and play well.”

The Bronchos ended the regular season with a three-game winning streak to clinch their 11th consecutive appearance in the LSC Tournament and will be looking to avenge a 1-0 overtime loss at Incarnate Word on Oct. 3 in the first round.

Sophomore Brittni Walker leads UCO in scoring with 21 points, having made eight goals and added five assists.  Junior Katy Kashwer has 16 points (seven goals, two assists), sophomore Summer Grantham 13 points (five goals, three assists) and junior Ashton Morris 11 points (four goals, three assists).
