Queen's Women's swimming ranked No. 8 in Avidasports Performance Rankings

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- In the first-ever Avidasports Performance Rankings the Queens University of Charlotte women’s swim team has been ranked No. 8 amongst Division II institutions. The rankings system weighs a team’s improvement during a given time period and the team’s times against other schools in the division. The first poll measured the successes of teams from Nov. 1-Nov. 12.

For the Royals women’s swimmers, the No. 8 ranking shows just how much they truly have improved from the beginning of the season until now. Queens was ranked seventh for improvement, 101.0%, and 13th against other teams for an average of 10.

“I am extremely happy to see a system in place to measure what we, as coaches, see on the weekends. Our women’s program has committed to training smart and swimming fast. They are blessed with two experienced captains and seem to be enjoying the success that they are having both in the pool and in the class room.” said Head Coach Jeff Dugdale. “I am confident that we are on the right path moving in the right direction.”

Queens is the only team from the Bluegrass Mountain Conference to be ranked and the only team from the South to be ranked.

The men’s team was not ranked in the top 10 with their average of 14. The men had a fourth place improvement ranking and a 24th place ranking against other teams. Conference opponent Wingate is ranked ninth on the men’s side.
