Ogilvie Selected Daktronics All-South Region First Team

Redshirt freshman midfielder scored seven goals and tallied eight assists in 2010

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Men’s Soccer) – Florida Tech redshirt freshman Gary Ogilvie was named Daktronics All-South Region First Team on Tuesday.

The midfielder from Hullbridge, England punched in seven goals and dished out eight assists in his first year as a Panther. His assist and point totals (22) led the squad, while his seven goals were the second-most on the team.

Tuesday’s honor is Ogilvie’s second in just under two weeks. Earlier this month, he represented his teammates on the All-Sunshine State Conference First Team.

Barry’s Sascha Koettig reeled in the region’s player of the year award. He registered 10 goals, nine assists and 29 points from the midfield to earn the honor.

Players selected to the all-South Region First Team will advance to the ballot for the Daktronics All-America team. Voting for the Daktronics All-America program is powered by ATHLETICSITE.COM and voted on by Division II sports information directors.
