2010 PacWest Women’s Soccer Report #10

PHOENIX, AZ - Dixie State senior midfielder Erin Beeston (Edmond, OK/Edmond North) has been named the Pacific West Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Nov. 8, for games contested Nov. 1-7.
Beeston led the Red Storm to a 3-0-0 week by totaling seven points on two goals and three assists, figuring in five of her team’s scores during the week.

On Nov. 1 during a 6-0 thumping of Chaminade, Beeston participated in the game’s first three goals, setting up the first two with pretty assists and tallying an unassisted goal in the 65th minute to give Dixie State a 3-0 lead.

Beeston then assisted on an insurance goal in the 86th minute of a 4-2 comeback win at Dominican (CA) on Nov. 4, helping the Red Storm overcome a 2-0 first-half deficit.

In the regular-season finale on Nov. 6, she scored the game-winning goal at Academy of Art to provide the Red Storm with a 3-1 win.


PacWest Women’s Soccer Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll


Kelsey Baxter - NDNU (Jr., 5-10, GK, Pleasanton, CA/Amador)...posted a pair of victo- ries in net for the Argos during the week...recorded a shutout win over Academy of Art on Nov. 4 (1- 0)...also earned a 2-1 win vs. Dominican (CA) on Nov. 7...had a 0.50 goals against average and an .889 save percentage...stopped 8 of 9 shots on net.

Mindy Beckstrom - Dixie State (Fr., 5-4, F, Nibley, UT/Mountain Crest)...totaled seven points in three games for the Red Storm during a 3-0-0 week...recorded three goals and added an assist...scored two goals, including game-winner, in 6-0 blanking of Chaminade on Nov. 1...finished game with four points...scored game-tying goal at Dominican (CA) on Nov. 4, helping Red Storm re- bound from a 2-0 deficit for a 4-2 win.

Sarah Biser - NDNU (Jr., 5-7, F, Newark, CA/ Newark Memorial)...scored two goals and totaled four points in a 2-0-0 week for NDNU...tallied game-winning goal in 1-0 win over Academy of Art on Nov. 4...punched in another game-winner on Nov. 7 to close out the regular season with a 2-1 victory vs. Dominican (CA).

Michelle Carels - Grand Canyon (Jr., 5-6, F, Anaheim, CA/El Dorado)...recorded a hat-trick vs. Chaminade on Nov. 3 in 3-0 Grand Canyon victory...totaled six points in the contest.

Julia Chipman - Dixie State (Fr., 5-6, M, Wash- ington, UT/Pine View)...scored game’s final two goals in 6-0 thrashing of Chaminade on Nov. 1...fin- ished game with four points.

Amber Fuller - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., 5-5, M, Pearl City, HI/Kamehameha-Oahu)...registered five points in a 2-0-0 week for the Sea Warriors...totaled two goals and one assist...had a goal and an assist in 4-1 victory vs. Hawai‘i Hilo on Nov. 6...tallied game-winning goal in 2-1 upset of BYU-Hawaii on Nov. 2.

Meghan Fuller - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., 5-4, F, Pearl City, HI/Pearl City)...scored game-winning goal vs. Hawai‘i Hilo on Nov. 6 in 4-1 HPU victory...tallied Sea Warriors’ first goal in 2-1 win at BYU-Hawaii on Nov. 2...finished week with four points.

Carianne Makino - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., 5-0, GK, Honolulu, HI/Kaiser)...posted a 2-0-0 record with a 4-1 win vs. Hawai‘i Hilo on Nov. 6 and a 2-1 victory at BYU-Hawaii on Nov. 2...halted 14 of 16 shots on net during the week...turned in a 1.00 goals against average and an .875 save percent- age.

Camille Peterson-Jensen - Dixie State (Jr., 5-6, M, North Logan, NV/Centennial)...totaled four points on a goal and two assists during 3-0-0 week for the Red Storm...had Dixie State’s first goal and then game-tying assist at Dominican (CA) on Nov. 4 in 4-2 Red Storm victory...also had an assist in 6- 0 Dixie State shutout of Chaminade on Nov. 1.

Wendy Stratford - Dixie State (Sr., 5-6, F, Layton, UT/Layton)...produced a five-point week for the Red Storm...scored two goals and added an assist during a 3-0-0 week...assisted on game-winning goal in the 70th minute at Dominican (CA) in a 4-2 victory...scored game’s second goal in 6-0 trounc- ing of Chaminade on Nov. 1...tallied game’s first goal in 3-1 win at Academy of Art on Nov. 6.
