Saint Rose makes it five straight Northeast-10 Women's Soccer Regular Season Titles

South Easton, Mass. – The field for the 2010 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Soccer Tournament is set following the completion of the regular season last night, and for the fifth-straight year, The College of Saint Rose is the top seed. The Golden Knights finished conference play with an unblemished mark of 15-0 for the second straight year to claim the top spot.

Merrimack College (12-4-2, 11-3-1 NE-10) earned the second seed in the conference tournament, while Franklin Pierce University (12-4-1, 10-4-1 NE-10) was awarded the third seed. American International College (12-5-1, 9-5-1 NE-10) is the fourth seed. All four squads will be hosting quarterfinal action, when the tournament begins this Sunday.

Southern New Hampshire University (10-6-1, 9-5-1 NE-10) was awarded the fifth seed, and is followed in order by Adelphi University (8-7-1, 8-7 NE-10), The University of Massachusetts Lowell (8-8-1, 8-7 NE-10), and New Haven University (9-7-2, 7-6-2 NE-10). Adelphi and UMass Lowell actually tied for sixth place in the conference standings, but the Panthers were awarded the number six seed as a result of the conference's tie-breaking procedures.

Quarterfinal action begins Sunday, October 31st with all four games scheduled to kickoff at 1 p.m. EST. #8 New Haven will travel to take on #1 Saint Rose, #2 Merrimack will host #7 UMass Lowell, #3 Franklin Pierce will welcome #6 Adelphi, and #5 So. New Hampshire will travel to Springfield, Massachusetts to take on #4 American Int'l.

The Semifinals will be held on Thursday, November 4th with the winner of Saint Rose/ New Haven taking on the winner of American Int'l/ So. New Hampshire. The other semifinal contest will feature the winner of Merrimack/ UMass Lowell against the winner of Franklin Pierce/ Adelphi. The higher remaining seeds will serve as hosts for the respective semifinal match ups.

The Northeast-10 Championship final is slated for Sunday, Nov. 7 at the site of the highest remaining seed.
