Senior forward/guard is Lakers’ top returning scorer from last season
MORROW, Ga. – October 29, 2010 – The Peach Belt Conference released its 2010-11 preseason All-Conference team for men’s basketball on Thursday, and selected to the squad was Clayton State’s Brandon Robinson.
A 6-foot-6 senior wing from Lake Wales, Fla., Robinson is one of five players selected to the preseason All-PBC. He is joined by Simel Boyd from Francis Marion, Byron Faison from USC Aiken, Cecil Coleman from Montevallo and D.J. Ferguson from Flagler. The team was selected by the conference head coaches.
Robinson is the top returning scorer from last season for Clayton State, which finished 16-13 overall and 8-9 in the Peach Belt Conference, advancing to the PBC Tournament semifinals. He averaged 14 points and five rebounds a game, while connecting on a team-leading 53 3-point baskets. He led the team in scoring seven times and recorded double-figure scoring in 22 games, including a career-high 21 points against Augusta State.
The high point for Robinson was when he was selected the Most Valuable Player of the Winter Park Rotary Tangerine Tournament at Rollins in which Clayton State won with victories of NCAA Division II National Tournament qualifiers Massachusetts-Lowell and Rollins.
Clayton State opens the 2010-11 season on Friday, Nov. 12, at Tusculum in the SAC/Peach Belt Challenge.
