KUTZTOWN – Senior Sarah Roscioli won the 50 free, finished second in the 200 breaststroke and third in the 100 breaststroke to lead East Stroudsburg University to a third-place finish at the Kutztown Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Roscioli also swam the second leg of the winning 200 medley relay, along with sophomores Sami Vavra, Kimberly Lawson and Tara Robinson. The Warriors turned in a time of 1:52.80 to post a 3.27-second margin of victory over Kutztown.
Roscioli swam times of 25.18 in the 50 free, 1:10.26 in the 100 breast and 2:33.23 in the 200 breast, all PSAC qualifying times in her respective events.
Vavra was second in the 100 back (1:01.52), third in the 200 IM (2:19.25), and fifth in the 100 breast. Lawson placed third in the 200 back (2:19.43) and fourth in the 100 back. Freshman Allison Schafer also posted a third-place showing in the 400 IM (4:57.07). Senior Amy Rowland (50 free) and freshman Katie McKee (200 back) also had top-six finishes in championship finals.
Four Warriors won consolation finals for seventh-place points – Rowland in the 200 back, Robinson in the 100 free, Schafer in the 200 fly, sophomore Ana Osowski in the 100 fly and McKee in the 100 back.
ESU also placed second in a pair of relays. Vavra, Roscioli, Lawson and Rowland clocked a time of 4:15.65 in the 400 medley relay, and Vavra, Rowland, Lawson and Roscioli finished the 400 free relay in 3:44.89.
