Friday, who won LSC North Defensive Player of the Week honors last week, had back-to-back career high scoring nights in leading the unbeaten and No. 10-ranked Bronchos to a pair of wins in the UCO/Fairfield Inn Invitational last weekend.
The junior guard from Putnam City North High School, averaged 22.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists a contest while shooting 73.1 percent (19-of-26) from the field in wins over Oklahoma Panhandle and Missouri Western.
Friday scored a career-best 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting with a 3-pointer in just 26 minutes of a 91-59 rout of the Aggies and he bettered that the next night with 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting while also tying a career-high with eight rebounds in a 92-86 win over MWSU. Friday scored 12 of those 24 points in the final 10 minutes as UCO overcame a nine-point deficit.
The Bronchos, who have equaled the best start in school history at 7-0, return to action Thursday with a league crossover game at Incarnate Word.
