Stark named ESPN Second Team Academic All-American

Woodworth earns Third Team honors

GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines’ Jessica Stark and Megan Woodworth have both been named to ESPN Academic All-American teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Stark earned Second Team honors while Woodworth was named to the Third Team.

Stark, a senior defender from Abilene, Texas (Cooper H.S.), garnered First Team Academic All-District honors for a second straight season. Stark, a three-time First Team Academic All-RMAC selection, has a 3.92 cumulative grade point average as a Civil Engineering major.

Stark earned Daktronics First Team All-Central Region honors and was named First Team All-RMAC. A Pre-Season All-RMAC selection, Stark started all 21 matches this season for Mines scoring five goals and tallying one assist.

Woodworth, a sophomore midfielder from Centennial, Colo. (Smoky Hill H.S.), was selected as the 2010 RMAC Women’s Soccer Academic Player of the Year. A unanimous First Team Academic All-RMAC selection, Woodworth is Chemical Engineering major with a 4.0 cumulative grade point average.

Woodworth earned First Team All-RMAC and Daktronics All-Central Region honors this season. A Pre-Season All-RMAC selection, Woodworth ranks second in the RMAC in assists (10), fifth in points (25) and eighth in goals (7). Woodworth established a new CSM single-game record for assists (3) and a new single-season record for assists this season.

The Orediggers finished the 2010 season with a record of 11-6-4 overall and 9-4-1 in the RMAC. Mines appeared in the RMAC Tournament for the fourth straight season. The 2010 season marked the third consecutive season CSM earned an NCAA Tournament berth in just the sixth season of the program.
