NSIC Offensive Player of the Week
#88 Tyler Steffan (WR, 6-4, 190, So., Dickinson, N.D. )
University of Mary

Tyler Steffan caught ten passes for 222 yards and one touchdown as the Marauders routed Northern State 48-3. He did most of his damage before intermission, making nine grabs for 208 yards. Steffan caught a 56 yard scoring strike early in the second quarter to increase the U-Mary lead to 21-3. On a 92 yard touchdown drive to close the first half, Steffan caught balls for 12, 34 and 25 yards.

NSIC Defensive Player of the Week
#42 Ryan Isaacson (LB, 6-4, 217, Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D. /O’Gorman HS)
Augustana College

Ryan Isaacson recorded 13 tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown to help No. 14 Augustana to a 32-0 victory over Upper Iowa on Saturday. Isaacson also had 1.5 tackles for loss and three pass breakups. His 25-yard interception return for a score put the Vikings up 13-0. Isaacson and his defensive unit pitched its third shutout of the year—something that hasn’t happened for the Vikings since 1942. Saturday’s win gave Augustana a share of the NSIC South Division title.

NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week
#87 David Nadeau (PK, 6-3, 200, Jr., White Bear Lake, Minn. /White Bear Lake HS)
University of Minnesota Duluth

David Nadeau nailed all three of his field goal attempts from from 24, 25 and 26 yards out to equal a career high and added four extra point kicks in UMD’s 45-21 victory over Minnesota State University, Mankato. It was the second 13-point afternoon in as many weeks. He is UMD’s all-time leading scorer for placekickers with 273 points. Nadeau is 9-of-11 in field goal tries this season.

CU Headed to Mineral Water Bowl

Excelsior Springs, Mo. - The Excelsior Springs Quarterback Club has extended an invitation to Concordia University (8-3) to play in the 45th annual Mineral Water Bowl against Pittsburg State (Kan.) University (5-6) on Saturday, December 4 with a noon kickoff at Tiger Stadium in Excelsior Springs, Mo. NSIC Boasts Three in NCAA Football Playoffs
UMD, Augie and St. Cloud Playing in Postseason

INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Division II Football Committee announced the 24-team field for the 2010 NCAA Football Championship. In Super Region #3 the NSIC will boast the top two seeds in Minnesota Duluth and Augustana, who will receive first round byes. St. Cloud State, the #4 seed, will host #5 Hillsdale (Mich.) College in the first round on Saturday, Nov. 20 at Husky Stadium. This will mark the third NCAA playoff appearance for the Huskies and second straight for Hillsdale College. The Huskies have played in two other NCAA playoffs, in 1989 advancing to the quarterfinals and in 2004.

The Bulldogs, one of just three unbeaten NCAA II clubs in the nation, will open postseason play on Nov. 27 at James S. Malosky Stadium by taking on the winner of this Saturday's first round Saturday's first round game between No. 4 St. Cloud State University (9-2 overall) of the NSIC and No. 5 Hillsdale College (9-2) of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. This marks the fifth time in school history that the Bulldogs have qualified for the NCAA II postseason.

With the No. 2 seed, Augustana will get a first-round bye and will play the winner of the No. 3 seed Grand Valley State/No. 6 seed Colorado School of Mines game, a first-round contest that will be played on Nov. 20. This marks the third time Augustana has been selected for the NCAA Playoffs and the first time in school history the Vikings will host a playoff game. Augustana also made it postseason action in 1988 and 1989.
