NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Redshirt junior guard Jacinda Jones of the Goldey-Beacom College women’s basketball team has earned honorable mention from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference for her performance during the week ending Nov. 28.
Jones, who was named to the All-Tournament Team in this past weekend’s Thanksgiving Classic hosted by the University of West Florida, averaged 19.0 points and 4.7 rebounds per-game in a 1-2 week for the Lightning.
The 5-foot-8 guard out of Claymont, Del. (Concord HS) notched her 12th career 20+ point scoring effort as she tallied a season-high 21 points in a loss to Kutztown on the road on Nov. 23.
Again she led the team in scoring in a loss to the University of South Carolina Aiken as she recorded a game-high 17 points and four rebounds. She also had two steals and one assist.
Then in the second game of the Thanksgiving Classic, she helped the Lightning earn their first win of the season over the tournament host, University of West Florida, 80-74. Jones never saw the bench as she shot 6-of-16 from the field and connected on three from long-distance to score 19 points in 40 minutes of work. She also snatched four steals and dished out two assists.
Jones is currently fifth in the CACC in scoring average at 16.6 ppg and second in the league in average three-point field goals made per-game at 2.40.
