The UNO men’s basketball team was picked second in the preseason team poll, and senior guard Tyler Bullock was chosen preseason conference player of the year by the Division II Bulletin, it was announced in the October/November issue. The Mavs finished the 2009-10 season with a record of 22-9 and an MIAA championship.
The publication ranked the Mavs second behind Central Missouri, which finished 27-4 last year. UNO faces UCM in Warrensburg, Mo., on Saturday, Jan. 8. at 3:30 p.m.
Bullock, a returning All-America honorable mention selection, was also designated as the Bulletin’s MIAA preseason player of the year. The senior earned first-team All-MIAA honors a year ago, leading UNO in scoring with 19.0 points per game and shooting over 85 percent from the free throw line.
The Mavericks open the 2010-11 season with an exhibition game at Michigan State on Monday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. Regular-season play is set to open at home against Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. at Sapp Fieldhouse.
