UWF and PSA to host GSC Soccer Championships Nov. 5-7

Tournament Kicks Off Friday at 11 a.m.

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Pensacola Sports Association will host the Gulf South Conference Championship Tournaments at Brosnaham Park on Friday, Nov. 5 and Sunday, Nov. 7.  The action starts on Friday with the two women’s semifinals at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., followed by the men’s semifinals at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.  The two championship matches will take place on Sunday at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

FRIDAY, NOV. 5
Women’s Semifinals
Match 1 - #3 Seed (HU/CBU) vs. #2 Seed (North Alabama) - 11 a.m.
Match 2 - #4 Seed (CBU/HU) vs. #1 Seed (West Florida) - 1:30 p.m.

Men’s Semifinals
Match 3 - #3 Seed (CBU/UAH/OBU) vs. #2 Seed (CBU/OBU) - 4:30 p.m.
Match 4 - #4 Seed (HU/UAH) vs. #1 Seed (West Florida) - 7 p.m.

SUNDAY, NOV. 7
Women’s Finals
Match 5 - Winner of Match 1 vs. Winner of Match 2 - 11 a.m.

Men’s Finals
Match 6 - Winner of Match 3 vs. Winner of Match 4 - 1:30 p.m.

CBU: Christian Brothers
HU: Harding
OBU: Ouachita Baptist
UAH: Alabama-Huntsville

Note: the final brackets will be released Tuesday night following the results of the Christian Brothers vs. Harding men’s and women’s games.

LOCATION: Ashton Brosnaham Park is located in Pensacola, Fla. five miles west of the main UWF campus.  The complex is located on Ashton Brosnaham Road north of East Ten Mile Road.

TICKETS: Two types of tickets will be available to spectators: single-day tickets and all-tournament passes.  The single-day ticket is $5 and allows admission to all games on that particular day.  The all-tournament pass is $8 and allows admission to all games on both days.  Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.  NOTE: UWF students, faculty and staff will not be admitted free, as this is a Gulf South Conference event.

MEDIA: Members of the media who plan on attending this year's event must send credential request(s) to Gulf South Conference Assistant Sports Information Director Michael Banks via email (banks@highspd.net), phone (205-991-9880) or fax (205-437-0505). Your request must include your name, the name of the media outlet you represent and the type of credential you are requesting (i.e., photo, print, radio).

LIVE COVERAGE: Fans not able to attend the games will be able to follow the action online with live video broadcasts and live stats for all matches at www.GoArgos.com and www.GulfSouthConference.org.  The broadcasts and live stats will be free to all users.

SOUVENIRS: Limited edition Gulf South Conference Soccer Championship long-sleeve T-shirts will be on sale for $20 for all sizes up to XL, $25 for XXL and XXXL. GSC logo caps ($15), wind breakers ($40 and up) and golf shirts ($30) will also be available.
