SEASIDE, Calif. – Paced by senior Scott Yeakel’s 6-under-par 66, the Cal State Monterey Bay men’s golf team moved in to first place after 36-holes of the Dennis Rose Invitational hosted by University of Hawaii-Hilo being held at the Waikoloa Resort.
The Otters shot a second round 286 on Monday, six strokes lower than their opening round 292, two strokes ahead of second place Hawaii Hilo (580). Grand Canyon is in third with a 583, followed by Dixie State (592) and Cal State Stanislaus (592).
Yeakel made six birdies with no bogeys to move to the top of the leaderboard after opening the tournament with an even-par 72. Hawaii Pacific’s Ale Radice-Fossati is one stroke behind Yeakel with a two round total 5-under-par 139. Senior Oskar Nsytrom sits in third place with a 4-under-par 140.
