GC’s Thompson, Duvall Named NFCA Scholar-Athletes

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia College softball student-athletes Caitlin Duvall (Douglasville, Ga.) and Bailey Thompson (Vidalia, Ga.) have been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) 2009-10 Scholar-Athlete list, the organization announced recently.

The NFCA recognizes players for their excellence both on the field and in the classroom.

Duvall, a junior studying political science with a minor in Spanish, has a 3.69 GPA. Thompson is a senior second baseman studying athletic training with a minor is psychology, possessing a perfect 4.0 GPA. Both student-athletes look to continue helping the Bobcats both on the softball field and in the classroom.

Thompson, Duvall and the rest of the Bobcats begin the 2011 season at the GSW Tournament Feb. 4 in Americus, Ga.
