Lewis’ Zac Bond Named To NSCAA Men’s Soccer All-Midwest Region First Team

Bond repeats as First Team selection; Ibarra and Vrebac named to Third Team.

Romeoville, Ill. – For the second-straight season, Lewis University defender Zac Bond (Decatur, Ill./MacArthur) has been named to the NSCAA/Performance Subaru NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer All-Midwest Region First Team, announced on Tuesday (Dec. 7).

Bond played a key role in helping Lewis capture the 2010 Great Lakes Valley Conference regular-season championship, as the Flyers held opponents to 1.16 goals-per-game. A 2009 All-American, Bond is also a three-time All-GLVC honoree, claiming first team accolades in 2009 and 2010.

An All-Midwest Region Second Team selection in 2008, senior Jose Ibarra (Romeoville, Ill./Romeoville) rejoins the All-Region squad on the Third Team. Ibarra, a 2010 All-GLVC First Team selection, posted career-highs in both goals (4) and assists (3) in his senior campaign.

Rounding out the honorees for the Flyers is senior forward Armin Vrebac (Loves Park, Ill./Harlem), who picked up All-Midwest Region Third Team honors. An All-GLVC Second Team selection, Vrebac finished the 2010 campaign with eight goals and four assists.
