#1 Rayon Simmons Jr. (RB, 5-10, 200, So., University City, Mo./Christian Brothers
Winona State University
Rayon Simmons had a career day, rushing 22 times for 196 yards and five touchdowns in Winona State’s 44-19 victory at Southwest Minnesota State. The 196 yards for Simmons were a career high, breaking the mark of 146 he set earlier this season against Minnesota State. His five touchdowns were also a career high and rank second on the WSU single game charts. Simmons is second in the conference this season, averaging 103.7 yards per game. Simmons also made three catches for 54 yards in the win.
NSIC Defensive Player of the Week
#7 Nick Andreas (DB, 6-2, 213, Jr., Lakeville, Minn. / South HS
Augustana College
Nick Andreas recorded a career-high 15 tackles and had a fumble recovery to lead No. 8 Augustana to a 17-13 victory over Minnesota State on Saturday. The Vikings are now 9-0 and have set a school record for wins in a season. Andreas had three tackles on a key defensive series for the Vikings in which they forced a Maverick punt and gave their offense the ball for the game-winning drive.
NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week
#14 Jessie Hubbard (WR, 5-10, 180, Jr., West Palm Beach, Fla. / Inlet Grove HS)

Jessie Hubbard led the Peacocks to a 21-20 upset victory over Wayne State. Hubbard returned the second half’s opening kick 92 yards for a touchdown to tie the game at 14-14 after a two-point conversion. The wide receiver then caught a 24-yard touchdown pass to give UIU a 21-14 lead near the end of the third quarter. Hubbard caught 10 passes for 78 yards and added 114 yards in kick returns.
