Bellarmine’s Kendle Selected GLVC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS – Bellarmine University senior guard Jeremy Kendle (Jeffersonville, Ind./Jeffersonville) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Kendle paced the third-ranked Knights to a pair of victories at the John Dickensheets Classic over the weekend.

In Friday’s 103-79 win at West Virginia State, Kendle posted a team-high 21 points on 7-of-15 shooting. He knocked down 5-of-8 three-point attempts in the contest and added six assists and two rebounds.
Kendle returned on Saturday to help the Knights upend Charleston, 79-59. He scored a game-high 26 points on 11-of-17 shooting and was 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. In addition, Kendle added four rebounds and three assists in the victory.

On the week, Kendle averaged 23.5 points per game while shooting 56.2 percent from the field and 60.0 percent from the three-point line. He also tallied 4.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game in the two victories.

Kendle is averaging 24.0 points, 4.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game this season. He leads the GLVC in scoring and three-point field goal percentage (55.0) and is ranked second in three-point field goals made per game (3.67), seventh in the league in assists per game and sixth in the GLVC in free throw percentage (90.0).

Bellarmine (3-0) is one of four GLVC East Division teams with an unblemished record. The Knights will face two divisional foes this week with road games at No. 16 Kentucky Wesleyan and Southern Indiana.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Alex Hall, Kentucky Wesleyan’s Cardell McFarland, Lewis’ Dennis Thomas, Jr., Northern Kentucky’s Josh Tabb, Quincy’s Josh Edmonds, Rockhurst’s Aaron Morrissey, Southern Indiana’s Isaac McClure and UIndy’s Cody Vest.
