WBB: Humboldt State 76, Dominican 52

ARCATA, Calif. — The Dominican University of California women's basketball team dropped it's Sunday matchup, 76-52, against host Humboldt State in the second and final day of the CCAA/PacWest Challenge.

Dominican (2-7) trailed the entire game and fell behind by as much as 16 points in the first half. In the second half, the 'Jacks (3-4) extended the lead to as much as 30 before the Lady Penguins made a late run.

Senior guard Kelsey Janusch led Dominican with 11 points. Fellow seniors Shelly Clermenco and Raquel Gomes each added eight points apiece in the loss.

Lisa Petty led all players with 17 points for Humboldt State. Kayla Williams went 5-for-6 from the field for 16 points and Bree Halsey scored eight points and led all players with 17 rebounds.

The Dominican women return home for a home game versus Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday, December 18. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. before the final day of the Dominican Men's Basketball Classic.
