2010-11 PacWest Women’s Basketball Report #5

PHOENIX, AZ - Dixie State sophomore guard Chanel Maxey (Anaheim, CA/ Canyon) has been named the Pacific West Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Dec. 13, for games contested Dec. 6-12.

Maxey was named to the All-Tournament Team at Alaska Anchorage over the weekend after averaging 16.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 three-pointers made per game. She ranked second in three’s made, fourth in scoring and 13th in re- bounding for the week in the PacWest.

Maxey also ranked second in shooting (64.7%) for the week in the confer- ence after making 11 of 17 field goal attempts, while she drained 61.5% (8 for 13) of her attempts from beyond the arc.


PacWest Women’s Basketball Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll

Jallisa Butler - Grand Canyon (Jr., 6-1, C/F, Las Ve- gas, NV/Cimarron)...named MVP of the San Francisco State Tournament after leading the Antelopes to a 2-0 mark...averaged 12.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game while shooting 61.1% (11 for 18) from the floor in the tourney.

Nicole DeRosier - Academy of Art (Jr., 5-9, G, Puyallup, WA/Gov. John R. Rogers)...averaged 17.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in 1-1 weekend...tied for sec- ond in scoring in PacWest for week...shot 52.2% (12 for 23) from the floor...ranked fifth in field goal percentage...shot 52.9% (9 for 17) from beyond the arc...ranked fourth in three-point shooting...led league in three-pointers made per game (4.5) for the week.

Breann Hill - Dixie State (Sr., 5-10, F, Harrisburg, PA/McDevitt)...named to All-Tourney Team at Alaska Anchorage...averaged 11.0 points per game...shot 81.8% (9 for 11) from the floor...averaged 3.0 steals per game.

Kelsey Janusch - Dominican (CA) (Sr., 5-8, G, Novato, CA/Marin)...averaged 17.0 points, 2.5 assists and 2.0 three-pointers made per game...hit 14 of 16 (87.5%) free throw attempts...tied for first in foul shoot- ing for the week in the PacWest...tied for second in scoring for the week...made 4 of 8 three-point attempts (50.0%)...ranked fifth in three-point shooting for the week in the PacWest.

Devin London - Academy of Art (Jr., 5-6, G, Oak Park, IL/Marian Catholic)...averaged 13.5 points and 4.0 assists per game in 1-1 week...ranked third in assist average and eighth in scoring in the PacWest for the week....shot 58.8% (10 for 17) from the floor to rank fourth in field goal percentage...led league from beyond the arc after shooting 80.0% (4 for 5)...tied for fourth in three-pointers made per game (4.5) for the week.

Samantha Murphy - Grand Canyon (Sr., 5-8, G, Phoenix, AZ/Xavier Prep)...named to All-Tournament Team at Alaska Anchorage...averaged 15.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in helping Antelopes to 2-0 weekend...averaged 3.0 assists per contest...shot 78.6% (11 for 14) from the line...ranked sixth in scoring and fifth in foul shooting for the week in the PacWest.

Jessica Nolan - Academy of Art (Sr., 5-11, F, Adelaide, Australia/Hallet Cove School)...helped Ur- ban Knights to a 1-1 week by averaging a double-double - 10.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game...ranked sec- ond in rebounding and led the PacWest in shooting for the week (66.7%)...made 10 of 15 field goal attempts...tied for second in steals per game for the week (3.5).

Verity Peets - Academy of Art (Sr., 6-0, F, Stockport, England/Stockport)...averaged 15.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for the Urban Knights in a 1-1 week...ranked seventh in scoring and tied for sixth in rebounding for the week.
Katie Zasley - Notre Dame de Namur (Sr., 5-9, G, Foster City, CA/Aragon)...helped Argos to 1-1 week by averaging 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game...led league in scoring and tied for eighth in re- bounding for the week...also handed out 3.0 assists per contest to tie for fifth for the week...hit 6 of 13 three- point attempts (46.2%) to rank seventh for the week in the conference.

Laura Zasley - Notre Dame de Namur (Sr., 5-9, G, Foster City, CA/Aragon)...guided Argos to a 1-1 week by averaging 16.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game...named to the All-Tournament Team at San Fran-cisco State...ranked fifth in scoring and fourth in rebounding for the week in the PacWest...also averaged 2.0 assists per game...made 7 of 10 foul shots (70.0%).
