#1 Minnesota Duluth (13-0), the only remaining unbeaten NCAA II clubs in the country , will host #3 Northwest Missouri State (12-1) this Saturday at 5:00 pm (CT) in the NCAA DII Football semifinal. This game will be a rematch of the 2008 NCAA National Championship game in which the Bulldogs came away with a 21-14 win. Northwest Missouri State is the defending National Champions. The game will be aired live on CBS College Sports (check your local listings for channel in your area), it will also be web streamed at www.NCAA.com. The game will also be re-broadcast on Monday, December 13th at 8:00 pm on FS North.
Northwest Missouri State enters the contest with a 12-1 mark and has won 12 straight games. The winner of Saturday's game will take on the winner of the Shepherd (12-1) at Delta State (11-3) game on Saturday, December 18th in the NCAA DII Football National Championship.
The Bulldogs have now won a school record seven home games in 2010 and have reached the 12-victory mark for only the second time in the program’s 78-year history and the 13 win mark for only the second time in school history (Bulldogs went 15-0 in 2008).
UMD is now 7-3 all-time in NCAA II postseason play with two of those victories coming in overtime (the Bulldogs defeated Grand Valley State 19-13 in two extra periods on its way to the 2008 NCAA II national title and St. Cloud State in the second round this season 20-17.
