UCO signs state softball standout

EDMOND (Nov. 11) – Central Oklahoma gained one of the state’s top high school softball players Wednesday with the signing of Tuttle outfielder Kaylee Brunson to a national letter of intent on the first day of the early signing period.

Brunson was a four-time Sooner Conference All-Star for the Tigers, earning offensive MVP honors in 2009.  She was a two-time Oklahoman Little All-City pick as well as an All-Stater and helped lead Tuttle to two state championships and a runner-up finish.

Also a track star for the Tigers, Brunson won the Class 4A 300-meter hurdle state title as a sophomore before finishing as runner-up last spring.

“Kaylee is a great athlete who can do a lot of things on the softball field,” said UCO head coach Genny Stidham.  “We’re really excited about her joining our program and look forward to having her next year.”

The Bronchos have back six starters from last year’s 32-21 team that made its fifth NCAA Division II national tournament appearance in nine years.
