No. 13 Royals fall to Washington and Lee

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The No. 13 Queens University of Charlotte Royals men’s swim team fell to the Generals of Washington and Lee in Lexington, Va., by a score of 169-98.In addition to Queens and Washington and Lee, Wingate swam at the meet, but Queens did not score against them as the two teams just competed against each other last week.

Christian Yeatts (Charlotte, N.C.) set a school record in the 200-yard backstroke, bettering the old record by .15, at 2:01.38. Overall, he placed fifth in the event.

Elijah Walker (Charlotte, N.C.) won the 100-yard breast stroke by clocking a time of 1:01.77, just .17 off of the school record.

Also winning his individual event was Daniel Bowden (Charlotte, N.C., Ardrey Kell) in the 200-yard freestyle. Bowden swam his fastest time in the event thus far, 1:47.56, to win the event. Bowden also won the 100-yard free by clocking a time of :48.32.

Jeremy Gregory won the 200-yard butterfly for the second consecutive meet. With his time of 1:55.11, Gregory swam to an NCAA “B” cut in the event for a second time. Last week at the Wingate Quad Meet Gregory posted his fastest time of the season by making the “B” cut at 1:52.89.

The Royals will swim again on Nov. 20-21 at the Wingate Fall Frenzy at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center.
